Name That Frog!

Anything but Kermit

Let's face it: When it comes to naming stuff, you stink. You named your Siberian Husky Bahama Mama, your cat is called Pavlov, and your daughter's name is Cadillac, Caddy for short. Seriously, what's wrong with you? Lucky for the entire community of St. Louis, you are not invited to participate in the Missouri Botanical Garden's "Name That Frog!" promotion. In fact, only children twelve and younger are allowed to suggest names for the frog mascot of the soon-to-be-open Doris I. Schnuck Children's Garden "A Missouri Adventure," and we bet they'll come up with some great choices for this overalls-sporting, straw-hat-wearing little fellow. To submit a moniker for consideration by the Tuesday, January 31, deadline, kids should get a parent's permission and fill out an entry form (available at the garden at 4344 Shaw Boulevard or online at www.mobot.org) with the bestest, most appropriate name for a frog ever (in other words, "Fluffy" probably won't work). Good luck! The winner gets free admission to the Children's Garden for one (1) year and bragging rights for one (1) whole week at school. (And a brief note to you parents: General garden admission is free through Friday, January 27, in case Caddy needs to be near the frog's future home for inspiration.)
