Second-Hand Laughs

Apr 4, 2013 at 4:00 am
At its best, improvisational comedy is clever, engaging, disarming or just hilariously non sequitur, and for more than 50 years, Chicago's Second City has created all that and more. The group's illustrious alumni include comedians Gilda Radner, Bill Murray, Chris Farley, Jane Lynch, Amy Sedaris, Tina Fey and many, many more. Second City's current touring troupe brings the best sketches, songs and games from the company's 52-year-history to St. Louis in the cabaret-style show Laughing Matters. Performances take place at 7 and 10 p.m. Friday and at 5 and 9 p.m. Saturday (April 5 and 6) at the Touhill Performing Arts Center on the University of Missouri-St. Louis campus (1 University Boulevard at Natural Bridge Road; 314-516-4949 or www.touhill.org). Tickets are $35.
