Second to None

While some actors are concerned with memorizing lines, others pride themselves on the ability to forget them. In fact, members of the legendary improv ensemble the Second City study the art of live-dialogue invention for years just to perform it in front of folks like you. Bask in the hilarious spontaneity of long-form improvisation on Friday and Saturday (May 16 and 17) at the Touhill Performing Arts Center on the University of Missouri-St. Louis campus (1 University Drive at Natural Bridge Road). The group offers 7 and 10 p.m. performances of One Nation, Under Blog on Friday for your tee-heeing pleasure (along with an additional performance at 9 p.m. on Saturday). Tickets are $31 to $35 — a small price to pay considering many former Saturday Night Live cast members sprung to stardom from Second City troupes (think Chris Farley, Mike Myers and Bill Murray). For tickets and more information, call 314-516-4949 or visit www.touhill.org.
