Tech-yes

After taking a gander at this here page, it looks as though tonight is a great evening for a variety of music. To add to the mix, the Atomic Cowboy (4140 Manchester Avenue; 314-775-0775 or www.atomic-cowboy.com) hosts one half of Alka Rex from New York. This duo is made up of Sasha Kaline and Eddie Krilov (Kaline is the one coming to town), and for an idea of what their minimal techno sounds like, imagine you are inside your computer hearing all of the near-silent blips and bleeps it surely makes as it transmits information -- and then imagine that computer and its constant hum underwater. But don’t be fooled: Kaline’s varied set won’t be nearly as “minimal” as the genre tag suggests; in fact, it will be engrossingly textured. To hear what he has to offer, head over to the Cowboy around 10 p.m. The show is free, and the drinks will be flowing.
