The Art of Feminism

With each struggle and each victory, with each voice raised in defense of those who would otherwise be silenced, feminism maintains its place as one of the world's most crucial movements. Today's women enjoy the rights for which our mothers and grandmothers fought -- and we keep up the fight, so that our daughters and granddaughters might live in an even more egalitarian society. Feminism is many things, but it is never lifeless, never dull. The movement may be documented in our textbooks, but it plays out vibrantly in our daily lives. The film !Women Art Revolution looks at the fascinating, critical importance that art holds within the feminist cause. In this documentary, hear the voices of women who -- undeterred by the heavily male art "structure" of the mid- to late-twentieth century -- made names for themselves in a variety of media. See how the Guerilla Girls held galleries, universities and museums accountable for discriminatory practices.
