Under the Gun

Baseball may lay claim to putting on the Fall Classic, but Lyle Tuttle's St. Louis Old School Tattoo Expo makes a strong case for the title as well. Tuttle's show brings scores of tattoo artists downtown for three solid days of seminars, presentations and practical application of the tattooing arts -- and whether you're inked up to your eyeballs or as unadorned as white bread, you're welcome to join the fun. You can get your first or thirty-first tattoo done on site (but book your artist early), participate in the many tattoo pageants for prizes or just wander the expo taking it all in. This year's show runs from 2 to 10 p.m. Friday, noon to 10 p.m. Saturday and noon to 8 p.m. Sunday (November 8 through 10) at the Ramada Plaza Hotel (811 North Ninth Street; www.oldschooltattooexpo.com). Single-day tickets are $20, the weekend pass is $50 and the VIP option costs $75.
