No, you did not accidentally click on a story about the weather in Phoenix — and no, this is definitely not a dry heat.

Temperatures in St. Louis this weekend, the National Weather Service warns, could hit 107 degrees. One hundred and seven!

And that's not even the worst of it. The afternoon heat index, which factors in our city's always ridiculous humidity, could climb to 112 degrees.

Quoth the National Weather Service, "Very dangerous levels of heat are forecast with the most oppressive conditions occurring this afternoon through Saturday when highs will range from 96 to 107 degrees, and afternoon/early evening heat index values will be from 105-112."

But hey, there is some good news to be had! The weather service continues, "Chances of showers and thunderstorms will begin to increase Saturday afternoon and evening as a cold front approaches the region."

Did someone say "cold front"? Just look at the Monday forecast ... a downright balmy high of (gulp) 91 degrees.

What is it the noble bard of St. Louis once said? It might well be time to take off all your clothes — it's way past the point of getting hot in herre.
