Wine Daycation

All summer long you gallivant through Missouri wine country, visiting this winery and that, taking in the beautiful countryside and its rich bottle bounty. Alas, come winter you don't make it out to the wineries often, not because they aren't open for your visits, but more because you prefer taking in the green scenery rather than the brown. Hey, there's nothing wrong with that, but why deprive yourself of delicious local wine during these, the blustery months? You need to make your way to Westport Plaza (I-270 and Page Avenue, Maryland Heights) this weekend to get your fermented fix. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society hosts the 24th annual Missouri Winefest at the plaza to raise money for its all-too-important mission: curing blood cancers and improving patients' quality of life. The tasting event runs from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday (February 13 and 14), featuring sips from Chaumette Vineyards & Winery, St. James Winery and more, and your entrance costs just $20, which includes a tasting glass.
