Balaban's Wine Cellar & Tapas Bar (1772 Clarkson Road, Chesterfield): A resurrection of the famous name by business partners Steve McIntyre and Brian Underwood, with chef Kevin Sthair serving tapas and updated versions of original Balaban's classics.
Brasserie by Niche (4580 Laclede Avenue): The third restaurant from Gerard Craft of Niche, with Perry Hendrix (most recently of North Carolina) in charge of the kitchen. Classic French brasserie cuisine, with a beer list curated by STL Hops' Mike Sweeney.

Haveli (9720 Page Avenue, Overland): A new Indian restaurant. The location was most recently the short-lived Thali Palace, another Indian restaurant.
Pho Mama (3737 South Grand Boulevard): A new Vietnamese restaurant in an old McDonald's near the Grand-Chippewa intersection.
Sammy Scott's (12766 Olive Boulevard, Creve Coeur): A fast-casual joint serving sandwiches, salads and soups.
Sanctuaria (4198 Manchester Avenue): Chef Chris Lee (Café Ventana) serves "wild tapas" in the former Agave location in Forest Park Southeast's Grove neighborhood.
Soulard Gyro and Deli (2202 South 12th Street): A small storefront serving gyros, doner kebabs and more.
The Vine (3171 South Grand Boulevard): A new restaurant, bakery and market in the South Grand commercial strip serving Lebanese, Palestinian and Iraqi cuisine.
Closings
Joe Bush's Pizza & Pub (3710 South Kingshighway): Strip-mall restaurant opened in spring of 2008.
Parkside Lounge (3117 South Grand Boulevard): This bar and restaurant opened in March of this year and closed in October.
St. Louis Pizza Haus (6602 Delmar Boulevard): The Delmar Loop eatery shuttered its doors after four years.
