FoodWire: November Restaurant Openings and Closings

A fairly busy month for openings. Closings, thankfully, were few. As usual, if I missed anything, please let me know in the comments.

Balaban's Wine Cellar & Tapas Bar (1772 Clarkson Road, Chesterfield): A resurrection of the famous name by business partners Steve McIntyre and Brian Underwood, with chef Kevin Sthair serving tapas and updated versions of original Balaban's classics.

Brasserie by Niche (4580 Laclede Avenue): The third restaurant from Gerard Craft of Niche, with Perry Hendrix (most recently of North Carolina) in charge of the kitchen. Classic French brasserie cuisine, with a beer list curated by STL Hops' Mike Sweeney.

More, after the jump...

Hanley's Grille and Tap(79 West County Center, Des Peres): Modern American comfort food in the former J. Buck's space. Read Robin Wheeler's Chef's Choice profile of owner Jeff Constance for more details.
