Because it's Gut Check's preferred modus operandi to celebrate people by feeding them (and ourselves), we love making Mother's Day brunch plans. We love it so much, in fact, that we've compiled a list of our favorite places to treat Mom to this year on Sunday, May 13.

Local Harvest Cafe & Catering (3137 Morganford Road; 314-772-8815): For Mother's Day, Local Harvest will be serving a special brunch menu with a la carte items including its eggs Benedict and fruit-stuffed French toast. Sunday, May 13, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Bixby's (5700 Lindell Boulevard; 314-361-7313): Bixby's presents a Mother's Day brunch with a seasonal buffet including house smoked salmon, sausage, chilled salads, hot entrees pastries and desserts. The adult meal price is $32, $15 for children ages 4 to 12 and free for children 3 and under. Sunday, May 13, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Cafe Madeleine at the Piper Palm House (4256 Magnolia Avenue; 314-771-4410): Cafe Madeleine presents a Mother's Day brunch buffet amid the Piper Palm House's elegant grounds. The adult meal price is $30, $15 for children ages 4 to 12 and free for children 3 and under. Sunday, May 13, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Home Wine Kitchen (7322 Manchester Road; 314-802-7676): It's one of Gut Check's "Five Best Brunch Restaurants in St. Louis" and for Mother's Day Home Wine Kitchen is pulling out all the stops with a special prix fix menu including cured salmon, honey waffles, shrimp and grits, cinnamon bread and more. Specialty drinks are available as well, such as Meyer lemon mimosas, bacon bloody marys and vanilla iced coffee. $28 per person. Sunday, May 13, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Salt (4356 Lindell Boulevard; 314-932-5787): Brunch at Salt is a fancy, flavorful affair with poached eggs, rib-eye steak, seared trout, strawberry cobbler, French toast, and biscuits and gravy all making the cut. Prices vary. Sunday, May 13, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
