In January 2011, Pratzel's Bakery (10405 Old Olive Street, Creve Coeur; 314-991-0708) closed after nearly a century in business. However, in March of that year a social-media campaign led by the local firm Falk Harrison found a new owner for the area's only 100% kosher bakery. Jon Mills, a documentary filmmaker, reopened Pratzel's wholesale bakery as Pratzel's Eastgate Bakery (9265 Dielman Industrial Drive, Olivette; 314-692-8100).

Now, according to a report from St. Louis Magazine, Pratzel's, version 2.0, has closed as well.

The report on the magazine's food blog, Relish, notes that there is paper covering the front window and a backlog of mail in the mailbox.

The Pratzel's website remains active, and its phone number is still connected. However, when Gut Check called this afternoon, it went directly to a recorded message, and when we found our way to a voice mailbox, it was full.

More as we learn it.
