The Sweet Divine closed its doors this past Saturday to prepare for its move to a new location in Soulard. But fret not, cupcake addicts! You can now scoop up its treats at all four Straub's locations.
Gut Check caught up with Straub's bakery manager Brandy Michel at the Kingshighway location to chat about the addition to the bakery department.

"We've already been selling a lot of cupcakes and whoopie pies," Michel says. "The Sweet Divine chose the varieties based on what they think will be popular, and so far it's been good."
Gut Check can vouch for that. When we went to Straub's to pick up some cupcakes for our very rigorous research purposes, the person in line in front of us was also buying cupcakes from the Sweet Divine.
Sweet Divine's cupcakes at Straub's are priced slightly higher than at the bakery's own storefront, but when you need a cupcake, you need a cupcake. Individual jumbo cupcakes are $4.99; the flavors currently available are salted caramel, blueberry lemon, chocolate -chip cookie dough, vanilla ecstasy, chocolate trio and banana split. Straub's is also carrying both chocolate and banana whoopie pies ($4.49 each) and chocolate-chip cookie sandwiches ($4.49 each). Cupcakes are available in boxes of four different flavors as well for $17.99.
Michel tells us that the Sweet Divine will be delivering cupcakes every Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings, and once all the kinks are worked out, Straub's will probably get to choose the flavors it wants to carry.
The partnership comes at the perfect time for the Sweet Divine, which temporarily closed up its brick-and-mortar store in Southtown while work progresses on the new store in Soulard. The Soulard location is tentatively slated to open Monday, April 15. In the meantime, the food truck appears to still be out and about, though with a limited schedule to allow for work to be done at the new store.
We couldn't reach anyone at the Sweet Divine to comment (we hope they're busy baking), but as soon as we learn more about the new location, we'll let you know.
