Husband-and-wife duo Melissa and John Windfeldt run JP’s Hideout (3915 Mid Rivers Mall Drive, Cottleville; 636-244-5508), and they run it well. Another strip-mall hidden gem, JP’s serves up traditional bar-and-grill food. They’ve got all the classics: wings, a giant hideout pretzel, fried pickles, t-ravs made with brisket — and those are just the appetizers. Burgers are crafted from a brisket, short rib and chuck blend, so come hungry and fill up.
