Y'know sometimes you're rocking out to Metallica and you can't help but think, "Damn, I wish this were rearranged for some harps." Well, your wish has been granted — and by two hot ladies, no less. Ashley Toman and Patricia Kline, two grads of the Eastman School of Music, founded Harptallica — a classical harp duo that covers Metallica standards ("The Unforgiven," "Master of Puppets," "Enter Sandman" and more). When Toman was in grad school, her husband thrust his love of Metallica upon her, and she immediately recognized that the rhythms and melodies — even the face-melting solos — would translate seamlessly to the harp. The result is a whole new way of listening to Metallica: Harptallica's music is lovely, lilting and even — daresay — heavenly.
