I'm still recovering from last night's Chingy CD release party at Club XES on the Landing -- look at me drop names, oh! -- but the local-ish show people are stoked about tonight is Man Man at the Lemp Neighborhood Arts Center (3301 Lemp Avenue; 314-771-1096).

(Man oh) Man Man

This Philly band does the old-fashioned cha-cha with the following traits: Dylan-does-Waits vox, barroom piano, abstract song structures and plenty of DIY percussion -- in other words they're a fine sonic complement to opener Casey Reid (although I'm sure they're no match for the spectacle of fellow opener Superfun Yeah Yeah Rocketship).
