Luna Lounge was located in the heart of Bevo Mill.

Luna Lounge (4561 Gravois Avenue), the Bevo Mill bar known for its karaoke and its devoted tribe of "Lunatics," will be closing after last call Saturday night — which will technically be 1:30 a.m. Sunday.

Mike Godwin, the bar's owner, confirmed the closing, saying it was hard to pinpoint what led to its demise. "It's hard to nail down any one thing," he said. "There were a lot of factors involved."

RFT's winner for "Best Karaoke" in 2014, Luna Lounge had a friendly, laidback vibe and some serious roots in its south city community. The gorgeous wooden bar, inscribed in German, dated back to the 1904 World's Fair, Godwin says.

Godwin was renting the space, and wasn't sure what will happen to it next. But the Saint Louis University graduate is looking forward to the next stage in his own life, whatever it is: "I don't want to be working until 1:30 a.m. any more," he says.

Until then, though, this weekend should be a huge party. "Good times, good friends, one last drink, one last shot," Godwin says.

We'll drink to that.
