The St. Louis Circuit Attorney's Office last week charged 21-year-old Brandon Pool with first-degree murder and armed criminal action in the killing October 19 of Carl Pearson.

Pearson, a 62-year-old man who police say was homeless at the time, was shot multiple times in the legs and left to bleed to death. Police discovered him in north St. Louis and rushed him to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

For being just 21, Pool already has a long rap sheet, according to court documents. In 2007, at the age of 17, he received his first charge for drug possession. He was charged with possession of drugs in 2010 and charged later that same year with another count of drug trafficking.

Pool is being held on a $750,000 cash-only bond.
