KMOX-AM talker Charles Jaco promotes his latest project; Channel 30 anchor Patrick Emory lets St. Louis in on a little secret

The hardest-working man in broadcast journalism, at least for two or three hours a day, is KMOX's Charles Jaco. The afternoon AM newshound is signing copies of what is being billed as his new thriller, Live Shot, at 7 p.m. Dec. 9 at Left Bank Books, Euclid and McPherson.... Winter may not be all bad news. On Monday night's Channel 30 newscast, news anchor/graying playboy/nightly wiseacre Patrick Emory said the recent cold snap had led him to "fold up my Speedos" and put them away -- to which weathercaster Keryn Shipman replied, on behalf of all St. Louisans, "Thank God."
