16 St. Louis Holiday Pop-Up Bars to Fill Any Grinch With Cheer

‘Tis the season to get blitzed, and St. Louis is full of festive pop-up bars to help you get into the holiday spirit — even those who are holiday haters.

We rounded up a wreath of pop-ups that will have anyone soon filled with holiday cheer. Each bar has its own spin on Christmas decor, themed drinks and seasonal food. Read on for the details.

Miracle

November 21 to December 30

Miracle at Small Change(2800 Indiana Avenue) is St. Louis’ original Christmas pop-up bar. With so much kitschy holiday décor, top-notch cocktails and nostalgic energy, it’s sure to put the grouchiest grinch in the holiday spirit. Walk-ins will be seated on a first come, first served basis. For guaranteed seating, there’s a $5 per person reservation fee, which will be donated to Santa's Helpers, a local charitable organization that helps families in need.

Lit at Molly’s

November 29 to December 25

Get lit at Molly’s in Soulard(816 Geyer Avenue) this holiday season, with outrageous decor, Christmas costumes, themed menus and tunes. Enjoy one of its 12 Drinks of LITmas — Partridge in a Pear Tree, Melted Snowman or Mistletoe Kiss — for $14 each. Or maybe the Gingerbread Man, an elf-sized drink [a.k.a. full-sized shot], with Bird Dog gingerbread flavored whiskey and RumChata or Caramel Apple with Licor 43, DeKuyper Sour Apple Pucker and Smirnoff Kissed Caramel. Small bites will also be available such as deep fried ornaments, snow balls or Prancer’s pepper poppers.

The Chalet Pop-up Bar

Weekends in December

Bring luxury into your holiday festivities with a visit to Le Meridien's Chalet(7730 Bonhomme Avenue). It's perched on the sky deck at Le Meridien in Clayton where you’ll find exclusive indoor and outdoor experience creating the ultimate winter escape in the city. The outdoor pop-up bar is $15 and offers curling for $50 per hour, savory seasonal bites and sips, cozy fire pit seating, live music, s'mores kits, wooden pergolas, heated lamps, twinkling lights and blankets. Looking to take the Chalet experience indoors? You’re in luck. There’s an indoor private room for up to 10 people with an outdoor patio and direct access to the Chalet Pop-Up Bar for $500. This one-hour and 45-minute experience comes with private outdoor seating with a firepit, curling rink rentals and concierge services.

Up on the Rooftop 

November 7 to December 30

Get a 360 view of the holiday season at Three Sixty(1 South Broadway) in downtown St. Louis. Sip on a ‘Seasick Crocodile’ made with pine liqueur, French herbs, pineapple, lime and powdered sugar snow. Or maybe a ‘Sleigh, Girl’ is more your vibe, with vodka, sloe gin, cranberry sauce cordial and ginger beer. Either way, this Christmas pop-up brings a whimsical holiday experience with its variety of seasonal drinks — $14.50 each — small plates, glittering holiday atmosphere and a life-size snow globe with optimal views of the city skyline. Guests can enjoy the festive decor inside 360 or out on the patio with warm fire pits. Seating is first come, first served.

Sleigh Shed

November 27 to December 31 

The Sleigh Shed has returned for the 2023 holiday season. Union Station’s Train Shed(1820 Market Street) has been transformed into a magical Christmas retreat with wall-to-wall bling. The pop-up bar features creative cocktails such as Sleighcation (double-aged dark rum, coconut rum, hazelnut liqueur, allspice dram, cream of coconut, lime and Angostura bitters) and Just Beclaus (vanilla vodka, Aperol, Abricot du Roussillon liqueur, cream, simple syrup, lemon and egg white), alongside appetizers and desserts. From traditional Christmas colors to dripping icicles, the Sleigh Shed is full of holiday cheer.

Have You Been Naughty Or Nice? Because Tinseltown is coming to Utopia Studios(3957 Park Avenue), and it’s for all the good, or bad, ladies and gents. The all-encompassing Christmas-themed pop-up will fulfill all your festive wishes. You can expect Santa's elves, tinsel, festive tunes and lots of winter warmer drinks, including a fabulous Christmas cocktail menu and more. Tickets ($15) include entry to the themed bar and a themed drink on arrival.

November 19 to December 30

Jingle is an over-the-top, holiday-themed pop-up with a chess twist at the Saint Louis Chess Campus (4657 Maryland Avenue). During “Nice” hours (10 a.m. to 4 p.m.), families and kids can enjoy hot chocolate, cookies and hands-on activities and projects. At night, during “Naughty” hours (4 p.m. to 10 p.m.) adults can sip on chess-inspired drinks and small bites from Kingside Diner. The World Chess Hall of Fame will be converted into a frosty fantasy with floor-to-ceiling decorations, themed chess sets and an illuminated, multicolor-changing bar. Tickets during “Nice” hours are $5 per person and $10 per person during “Naughty” hours.

Tower Grove Park has turned Piper Palm House (4271 Northeast Drive) into the ultimate snowy paradise for another holiday season, with a menu of unique, Christmas-inspired cocktails, live entertainment and food by Farm Spirit. On Saturday and Sunday, December 16 and 17, Frosted will include an outdoor Holiday Market featuring handmade goods and crafts from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Toasted Chestnut A Christmas Pop-Up Bar

Wednesdays through Saturdays in December 

Public School House (5546 Chestnut Street, Cottleville) has planned an immersive winter wonderland with delicious SugarFire fare, cocktails, mocktails, beer, wine and shots. The pop-up offers tickets for a variety of groups and price ranges including bar seating, table tops, VIP and VIP igloos. Reserved tables are $18.50 per person, VIP couch reservations are $21 and VIP heated igloos are $26.25.
