It's that time of year again! Whether you fancy frightening affairs or are just in it for the candy, Halloween always brings a plethora of festivities to St. Louis -- and this year is no exception. From haunted houses to beer tastings to block parties and more, here's a roundup of some of the season's must-do Halloween events.

If the idea of a costume contest with $5,000 worth of cash and prizes sounds good to you, mark your calendar for the Central West End's annual Halloween party. The celebration kicks off during the day with family-friendly activities that include a parade, trick-or-treating at area businesses and a dog parade and party.
