Not a sad Cardinals fan was in sight downtown on Opening Day, as St. Louis was treated to an all-out street party near Busch Stadium and a sweet victory by the Redbirds. Thousands of people kicked off the pregame celebration at Ballpark Village, where fans partied, danced, and got way too drunk before the big game.
Fans dressed in their finest sports gear with pins, hats, suit coats, jerseys and blankets all paying homage to the Cards. While the team has historically been one of the best teams in the league, lately the Cards have been in a bit of a slump — which made today's come-from-behind 8-5 victory over the Marlins even sweeter. Credit is due to the sheer dedication displayed by Cardinals fans even when the team is subpar.
