Dressel's Pub Is a St. Louis Classic — For Good Reason

Dressel’s Pub (419 North Euclid Avenue) has long been one of St. Louis’ finest Welsh pubs, with authentic dishes, tasty pints of beer and good conversation. Thanks to a recent remodel, it's also a stylish spot for a date or a dinner party.

For the RFT’s Food Critic Alexa Beattie, a native of Great Britain, Dressel's has long held a special place in her heart. She was especially impressed by the Colorado ground lamb burger with apricot chutney, whipped goat cheese, pickles and lettuce on a brioche bun. She calls the burger “tender and farmyardy, and sweetly/jammily zinged, it is — in my opinionated, British-person opinion — beyond sublime.” And though the fish and chips, made with beer-battered Norwegian haddock, was missing the longed-for pickled egg, Beattie praised the "blisteringly clean, snowy flesh" and batter that was "delicately crisp, not too oily."

Dressel’s also famously serves a fresh-baked pretzel, a handful of other apps and entrees and desserts including bread pudding and Mexican chocolate pot de creme.
