Funk enthusiasts piled into Tim’s Chrome Bar (4736 Gravois Avenue) on Friday night for an all-out dance party. The chic bar in Bevo Mill hosted Shake Somethin’ #2, a night of music and dance with a theme of funk's glory years.
The sprawling dance floor inside Tim’s was illuminated by psychedelic lights that complemented the dancers' funky and equally colorful outfits, with colorful jackets, shirts, iced-out necklaces and bell-bottom jeans all in evidence. The crowd moved with passion and intensity as there was not one unhappy or stationary person that could be found. If you weren't dancing, someone was dragging you to the dance floor to flow with the music.
DJs Jay E and Makossa brought the soundtrack for the night as they spun classic funk hits from the 1970s on vinyl. Scroll down for all the highlights.
