The Indian Cuisine at Black Salt in Chesterfield Will Take Your Breath Away

Black Salt (1709 Clarkson Road, Chesterfield; 636-204-6441) has brought flavorful Indian cuisine to the Chesterfield area since March 2023.

Co-owners Raj Pandey and Sanjiv Shekhar and chef Madan Chhetri wanted to create an upscale, modern Indian restaurant that served polished, colorful dishes and sleek cocktails — the kind of fine dining restaurant you could dress up to impress your date or your colleagues.

Then-RFT Dining Critic Cheryl Baehr was stunned by how decadent the lamb chops are. She was served three peppery-incrusted lamb chops placed in a creamy saffron sauce with red chile oil with her first impressing being "sheer richness."

Along with the lamb chops, Black Salt offers soups, salads, a wide variety of appetizers, vegetarian and other non-vegetarian entrees, Indian breads and rice, biryani and desserts.

Maplewood’s Irish bar Foley’s (3522 Greenwood Boulevard, Maplewood) is the perfect place for good old friendly competition between neighbors.
