Cards vs. Astros

In a shocking turn of events, as of one week prior to the St. Louis Cardinals' Home Opener (it's like a combination of Christmas and free ice cream day here in St. Louis), single tickets still remain for the 3:15 p.m. game against the Houston Astros. Sure, those tickets range from $45 to $220, and they're most likely going to be gone by the time you read this, but you can watch the game at pert-near any bar in the city limits for the price of a couple drinks. It's your duty as an American and as a baseball fan to skip out of work and watch the game. If you're absolutely tied to your desk, an in-office game of stickball is an acceptable substitute, especially if you turn that Oxford into a jersey through the magic of Duct Tape and Sharpies. One another point of interest for those of you heading downtown to watch the game from the bleachers or the bar stool: If you swing by the Anheuser-Busch Tour Center (12th & Lynch streets) between 1 and 3 p.m., you can avail yourself of one free frosty Budweiser in honor of the the return of baseball. Yeah, the Home Opener brings out the best in everybody.
