It's Not Just Lunch

ANNONYArts (www.annonyarts.org) has given St. Louis the gift of free dance each September for almost a decade, and if you've never caught one of these complimentary concerts, you're missing out. Be sure to block out some time on that desk blotter of yours, or in your Outlook calendar if you've forgotten how to hold a pen, for this year's Dine on Dance lunchtime performances. Held at noon on Friday, September 23, and Friday, September 30, these concerts, featuring live music and site-specific choreography by local dancers (including Hannahbeth Fischer and Dawn Karlovsky), are meant to be enjoyed over the lunch or snack you bring yourself. Because the pieces are particular to their location, each show is different, with the works responding to concrete or buildings or trees or whatever else. The first week (Friday, September 23), you'll find the dancers at the Market in the Loop (6655 Delmar Boulevard, University City), the next (Friday, September 30), at Strauss Park (North Grand and Washington boulevards). And, need we remind you, Dine on Dance is free to attend.
