Livin’ It Up

With the eagles

Mar 15, 2006 at 4:00 am
Shhh — don’t tell the eagles, but Mr. Night dislikes them so much that he tries to prevent the gentle Ms. Day from loving them. Even when she’s just sitting around the office having a casual pro-eagle symposium, Night plugs his ears and loudly sings “Hotel California” in an attempt to make her shut up (and it usually works — Ms. Day cares significantly less for the Don Henley-variety Eagles). But rest assured: Lady Day will be at the free World Eagle Day festivities, happening from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the lovely World Bird Sanctuary (125 Bald Eagle Ridge Road, Valley Park; 636-225-4390 or www.worldbirdsanctuary.org), and she expects that instead of attending, Night will take cover so as not to be carried off by the cunning birds, The Wizard of Oz flying-monkey-style — oooh, that would be very scary! But you, dear reader, have nothing to fear! You should totally be able to experience the beautiful, majestic birds and participate in the family activities (like nest-building) alongside Ms. Day. Just duck if you see Night lurking around in his unitard!
