Sometimes, an evocative title does most of the work. Jason Eisener's Hobo with a Shotgun is a subtle and touching examination of anomie in the 21st century -- wait, it's actually an unrepentant B-movie of the finest quality. Hobo with a Shotgun is a revenge fantasy about a nameless homeless man (Rutger Hauer) who drifts into a new town rife with corruption and finds his true calling -- shotgunning the evil to death. It's a grisly romp of a film that exults in the triple X's of grindhouse classicism: X-tra violent, X-tra gory, X-tra entertaining. Andy Triefenbach's Late Nite Grindhouse film series returns for a second summer of slaughter with the St. Louis premiere of Hobo With A Shotgun.
