- Maybe you've heard of Gerard Craft? Local chef? Owns Niche (1831 Sidney Street; 314-773-7755), Brasserie by Niche (4580 Laclede Avenue; 314-454-0600) and Taste (4584 Laclede Avenue; 314-361-1200)?About to move Niche to Clayton and open a new restaurant, Pastaria, next-door?

If you've not only heard of Craft but have always wanted to work at one of his restaurants, now might be your chance. The Niche Restaurant Group is hosting a job fair from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. on Wednesday, August 1, on the first floor of the Centene Building at 7700 Forsyth Boulevard in Clayton.

The restaurant group has openings for cooks, servers, server assistants, managers, hosts/hostesses and bartenders. You can walk in or call 217-556-5772 to reserve an appointment. This should go without saying, but bring a résumé.

- When we last heard from Larry Lampert and his daughter, Angie, late last year, they had shutteredLampert's Plush Pig Barbecue (2811 South McKnight Road, Rock Hill; 314-961-8888). Now, George Mahe of St. Louis Magazine reports that the Lamperts -- specifically, Angie -- are opening a new venture: Mr. Lunch will serve sandwiches and salads at 11658 Dorsett Road in Maryland Heights, the space formerly occupied by Foxy's Red Hots.
