So, What's the Deal with these Best Coast Tickets? [Update]

Sep 2, 2010 at 1:50 pm

Cat-loving pop songstress Best Coast announced fall tour dates (with the awesome UK punk band Male Bonding) in June. A St. Louis stop at the Gargoyle on September 14 was among those on the list. On the event's Facebook page, the venue stated: "Tickets won't be on sale until WU's 2010 school year starts, but they will be priced as follows: Public tickets: $10 // Student tickets: free with WU ID." Pretty standard stuff.

Last Friday, the show popped up on the Gargoyle's Metrotix listing, and tickets were supposed to go on sale yesterday at 10 a.m. However, this did not happen. The event had even disappeared from Metrotix's site. I tweeted at them, and they responded:

@rftmusic We are waiting on the go-ahead from the venue for Best Coast. Dotting i's/crossing t's and all that. Should have more info soon!less than a minute ago via web

I also called the box office at Wash U's Edison Theatre to ask about tickets, and the person I talked to said "a contract hasn't gone through yet" and.that they're "waiting on the [venue] to get the go-ahead to sell" the tickets.

I left a voicemail at the Gargoyle's phone number and sent 'em an email to see if there are any updates.

We'll keep you posted when we hear any updates.

[Update! September 2, 1:50 pm: Tickets are available RIGHT NOW on Metrotix.]
