Riverfront Times is seeking new interns. This year, we've got two positions to fill -- a photography internship and our brand-new multimedia internship.
The jobs must be for school credit, and we'll do our best to make the experience worthwhile. Interns will work directly with the editorial staff to create beautiful and innovative visual components for our stories in the paper and on our music, food and news blogs.

Photography internship:
Photo interns shoot a variety of editorial slideshows and blogs each week. Slideshow subjects include: concerts, art walks, cultural festivals, rallies, conventions and other news events. Shots from slideshows and blogs may also appear in the print edition. We encourage interns to present ideas that could be used for slideshows and other presentations on the web.Interns may also be invited to attend feature and cover shoots. In the past, interns have even photographed covers, features and restaurants for the print edition. Interns work closely with the art director to receive feedback on their work. Applicants who are not enrolled in school and who are unable to receive academic credit are ineligible. Some offices are equipped with cameras and accessories, but in general, equipment is not provided.

Multimedia internship:
Multimedia interns produce video content for the paper's website to accompany its print features and online reporting.Multimedia interns coordinate with the editor, reporters, web editor and art director to produce two brief segments each week, as well as two long-term projects over the course of the semester. (S)he must have excellent communication and organizational skills, well-developed creative and production skills, and be comfortable working independently and juggling several projects on tight deadlines.
Some offices are equipped with cameras and accessories, but in general, equipment is not provided. Interns must have reliable transportation; VMG will reimburse for mileage and assignment expenses. Candidates must be proficient in Apple Final Cut Pro X and Compressor, with some knowledge of Apple Motion as well as any editing software the intern may own.
