Can you guess what last Sunday was?
Can you guess what last Sunday was?

Here's your weekly St. Louis bestseller list for the week ending June 17, as compiled by the St. Louis Independent Booksellers Alliance and based on sales at Left Bank Books, Main Street Books, Pudd'nhead Books, Subterranean Books and Sue's News.

Can you think of a more perfect-sounding gift for Dad on Father's Day than Arthur Herman's Freedom's Forge: How American Business Produced Victory in World War II? Business! World War II! Freedom's Forge, for God's sake.

Except for the inevitable Fifty Shades trilogy, dad-books dominated the bestseller list this week. There were books for dads of almost all stripes, except for the ones who don't read: barbecue (Charred & Scruffed), video games (Ready Player One), sports radio (KMOX: The Voice of St. Louis), supernatural cops (The Light Bringer), adventure (Turn Right at Machu Picchu)! And, of course, Father's Day, which, as a bonus, was written by veteran sportswriter Buzz Bissinger.

We're wondering, though, if any of the copies of the Hunger Games books ended up next to any dads' plates at brunch last Sunday. After all, LeBron James is a fan. Why not your old man?
