City Museum's New World Record: Most People Wearing Underwear on Their Heads

Today a St. Louis institution earned a spot in the record books for the second time — City Museum broke the world record for the most people wearing underwear on their heads. The official tally was 355, smashing the old record of 270. And if that's not a major point of 314 Day pride for you, well, what kind of St. Louisan are you?
Hundreds of people flooded the museum in the early afternoon, waiting to be crowned with a pair of tighty whities. Once the cotton haberdashery was properly placed atop their heads, they danced to the banger track “YMCA” by the Village People.
Just after 2:30 p.m., the official adjudicator for Guinness World Records, Michael Empric, announced that the record had been broken. And yes, Empric traveled to St. Louis for this momentous occasion.
The City Museum now holds two underwear-related world records. The previous, of course, is for the world's largest pair of underwear, which is enshrined in the museum.
