Art An expensive abstract painting, white lines on a white canvas, triggers all sorts of convolutions between Serge (Ron Himes), who has purchased this presumed piece of art, and his two best friends (Robert A. Mitchell, Tim Schall), who don't necessarily share their pal's passion for white. Yasmina Reza's celebrated 1990s play succeeds in capturing the elusive ambiguities that underlie male friendships everywhere. Christopher Hampton's pithy translation from French has lost neither its allure nor its universality. Performed by the Black Rep through May 23 at the Grandel Theatre, 3610 Grandel Square.
