St. Louis police are on the hunt for a Richmond Heights man who escaped from the St. Louis Psychiatric Rehabilitation Center Sunday afternoon.

Gregg Atkisson, 27, of the 1000 block of Commodore Drive, is a patient at the psychiatric hospital on Arsenal Street, though police haven't released why he was committed there.

On Sunday around 4:15 p.m., a hospital employee saw Atkisson climb a twenty-foot downspout onto the roof of the hospital from a courtyard, according to police.

Once Atkisson was on the roof and began running, the employee lost sight of him because of the height of the building. A search of the facility, which sits south of Arsenal Street between Brannon and Sublette avenues, was unsuccessful.

Atkisson remains on the loose.
